Pokémon Heart Gold – Mini Review!

What is it?

Pokémon Heart Gold is the second set of Pokémon remakes, focusing on the second generation of the game. It originally released on Nintendo DS in 2009, but I only recently got the opportunity to play it through! It features the player – either male or female – building a team of Pokémon to dominate both the Johto and Kanto regions.

Pros
Cons
Enormous map.
Quality of life additions are great.
Just enough Pokémon to keep your interest, without seeming overwhelming.
Still a nice looking game.
Great soundtrack.
Ran into a couple of freezes/crashes.
Difficult to get all Pokémon, unless you have the right games and the right cables.

Verdict:

Pokémon Gold and Silver were probably my favourite Pokémon games. The remakes are also very, very good, and have stood the test of time as they are still exceptional Pokémon titles. The fact they have two regions in them makes them enormous, and probably better than any Pokémon game that’s released since.
