Poker Night 2 is the sequel to Telltale Games’ poker game “Poker Night at the Inventory”. Building on the already intriguing premise from the previous game, you’re thrown in with a bunch of hilarious and recognisable characters including Claptrap from Borderlands, GLaDOS from Portal and my favourite, Sam, from the Sam and Max series, amongst others. The colourful characters bring brilliant banter and interesting little tidbits from their titles for you to enjoy as you sit down and play cards, with friends.
Decent poker play.
Great conversations between players.
A little easy.
Conversations can get a little repetitive.
Telltale Games are not always known for games that don’t follow their usual story-heavy adventure games, but they are a familiar face in poker games, as that is where they started out. Poker Night 2 is a brilliant game and while the poker isn’t perfect, it’s definitely decent enough to hold up against both newcomers and card-sharks. It’s a game you can pick up and play at any point and is something I always have installed on my PC, so I recommend you have it too.
