What is it?
The Sims 4 is the most recent instantiation of EA’s popular Sims franchise. As with the other games in the series, you can create a family, build their home and make them superstars in their field of work. Or, alternatively, you can be evil and murder them. Your choice really.
Attention to detail is really good.
Looks great, even though they went cartoony.
Plenty of ways to build a dream house.
No open world is lame.
Neighbourhoods were limited.
Ridiculous cost of DLC.
Toddler autonomy could do with a tweak.
I’m really divided on the Sims 4. On the one hand, it’s absolutely amazing when you want to build a place to live, and have a virtual family to play with. On the other, it’s so expensive, limited in where you can build your property and stuffed full of loading screens due to no open world. I do enjoy it to a certain point, but it is tough to recommend it. I just don’t think you’ll get enough value for money out of this title.
