Don’t put Nintendo in a box…

More information for Nintendo Labo unfolded today, the Switch exclusive DIY set which involves cardboard sheets cut out and folded into a variety of peripherals, which interact with a Nintendo Switch using it’s many features including the HD Rumble and IR Sensor. Videos further explain the robot suit as well as the variety set, which holds five different toy-con including a motorbike, fishing rod, RC bugs and a virtual pet inside a house.

New details shown today include further use of the Joy-Con’s IR camera, to scan in your own designs of fish to catch, as well as to create custom terrain to race over with the motorbike. The house Toy-Con has also now been shown to hold a virtual pet, with different switches and plugs available to press into the sides of the house, each of which having a different interactive function with the creature living within. The rather more complicated Robot Toy-Con is also further showcased, with different game modes shown as well as a multiplayer element, with the idea of two people in full robot suits attacking each other sounding utterly ridiculous and suitably Nintendo.

What do you think? Think you’re cut out for Nintendo’s latest? Will you be handing over some paper to purchase these? Or does the whole thing look tearable…

Nintendo Labo launches for the Nintendo Switch on April 20th
