Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops – Mini Review!

What is it?

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (MPO) is a stealth action game for the PSP. Unlike the previous releases on the console, MPO is more similar to the console versions of the series. Set in 1970, the game follows Snake in Colombia after his former unit goes renegade.

Platform(s)

PSP, PS Vita

Pros
Cons
As ever, really strong gameplay.
Great cutscenes.
Brilliant story.
Some really cool features.
Great voice acting.
Some maps are a bit samey.

Verdict:

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most well known series for it’s continued quality, and anyone who was worried about the series following Hideo Kojima’s departure, should probably look to this game. It’s a brilliant game, with a whole bunch of amazing features that, when I played through, I was shocked that it was on a mobile device. There’s a lot going on, and it’s a lot of fun to play. Definitely worth it.

Picked this up a few years ago but, as is so often the case, have conspired to never play it. Clearly I shall have to remedy this error.
