Our Picks: Top 8 VR Games of 2020

When it comes to virtual reality, the technology has really started to arrive now with some of the best VR headsets easily accessible to everyone. But which are the best games available right now on VR?
We take a look at eight of the best so far in 2020.

Trover Saves The Universe (Oculus, PSVR)

Created by Squanch Games (founded by Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland) this comedy game had ridiculous missions, funny voices, and oddball stories.

Originally released on none VR formats in 2019, this was released for VR in June 2020 . The game skillfully avoids some of the movement issues that other VR games face by placing you into a chair that is the game’s user interface.

No Man’s Sky (PSVR)

No Man’s Sky is an action survival game that works perfectly on VR. Made by Hello Games you pass through and discover new worlds in an epic adventure that is both immersive and awesome.

Superhot VR (Windows Mixed Reality, PSVR, Oculus)

Originally released as a browser-based demo back in 2013, Superhot has found its natural home on VR.

Superhot is a highly addictive first-person shooter which makes excellent use of the 360 degree tracking by having enemies come at you from all directions.

Space Pirate Trainer (Oculus, Windows Mixed Reality, HTC Vive)

Space Pirate Trainer is a space-based shoot-em-up that works best of the Oculus Quest. You can choose between a selection of different weapons and gadgets and the added movement provided by the Quest’s tracking system make it almost like a weapon on its own.

Gameplay can get a bit repetitive over time, however, it does always seem to pull you back in for ‘one last go.’

Beat Saber (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality)

Like a cross between Guitar Hero and Star Wars, this game has you slashing around sabers to the beat of the music.

You need to keep in time while you cut specific coloured boxes while dodging obstacles.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Keep talking and Nobody Explodes is developed by Steal Crate Games. It requires careful attention from all of the players. One of you will defuse the bomb while the other players will give you clear instructions on how to do it. It’s a game of pure cooperation that will really get you working together as a team.

Tetris Effect

If you don’t know how to play Tetris, you have probably lived under a rock your whole life. Tetris Effect plays exactly the same as the Game Boy classic, however, the environments that you play Tetris Effect in will change with different music and visuals that are tailored to its theme.

Skyrim VR (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR)

Not only do you get to enjoy the classic Skyrim game but you will also get to enjoy Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn DLC. This is the largest adventure game yet to be released on VR so far.
