AVGN Adventures 1 & 2 Deluxe (Switch) | Mini Review
Jake 'The Voice' Parr February 19, 2021
Challenging gameplay and creative mission designs. Feels more balanced compared to before.
Some fun vehicle segments.
Plenty of references to the reviews, would make good fan service to AVGN lovers.
Multiple characters in the first game; unlockable abilities in the second allow you to reach new areas and uncover shortcuts.
Notably improved graphics and a great soundtrack.
Cheap ambushes before checkpoints are common.
The second game recycles the same mini-boss frequently, which just pads the game out.
Occasionally frustrating boss battles.
Excessive toilet humour can get tiresome very quickly, unless you’re a mega-fan.
If you die, you’ll lose your power-up, which just feels like a lousy punishment.
