What is it?

Donkey Kong 3 is a platformer-shooter developed and published by Nintendo in 1983, and was eventually ported to the NES in 1986. As Stanley the bugman, the player’s goal is to fire a bug spray vertically at the unruly ape Donkey Kong as he sends forth bugs to steal his plants.

Platform(s)

NES, Wii, Wii U, Switch

Pros
Cons
Sets itself apart from the previous games by giving you a projectile weapon and items to defend.
Easy to control .
Plenty of enemies to shoot.
Short in length, being an arcade port.
Some levels can be beaten within half a minute if you button-mash enough.
Screen can get cluttered with enemies .

Verdict:

A title like this is a bit of an odd duck for the series, and its seldom talked about. It’s a half-decent tile that’s a change of pace from the usual barrel-hopping and vine-climbing, but it’s nothing to go ape over.
