There have been spades of zombie games in the past few years, but nothing quite like Dying Light has ever graced the gaming world. Yes, it has the regular hack and slash combat of most games in the genre (though here it’s much more visceral), but it brings more than just that. Run, leap and climb; performing fast and fleeting parkour across the infested city of Harran evading the hordes as the hunted.
PC, PS4 & Xbox One
Fun crafting systems.
At times can be dizzyingly fast.
Survival elements are minimal.
It’s a blast playing on your own. It’s funny, it’s tense, it’s thrilling and brilliant, but it is so much better with friends. Matchmaking can only go so far and although it is good with random people, it is definitely to be enjoyed most with people you know over voice chat. Not for the squeamish but if you don’t mind a bit of gore, there’s fun to be had in the fighting. If running about and leaping across the rooftops is more your style then think first person Assassin’s Creed. I highly recommend this.
