Pros
Cons
Challenging gameplay with polished stealth mechanics (disguise, distractions, etc.) and reactive AI.
Levels from both season 1 & 2 are expertly crafted with tonnes of replayability and additional, exclusive features (e.g. hiding in bushes).
Includes a few ‘remixed’ stages that are scaled down in size, feature new targets, etc.
Many challenges to complete and gear/outfits to unlock, plus new equipment.
Fleshed out Contracts Mode and increasingly challenging Escalations are a blast.
Doesn’t mark restricted areas based on current disguise.
Some vague challenges offer no hints on how to complete them.
Soundtrack isn’t nearly as memorable as Jesper Kyd’s.
Elusive Targets (one attempt at killing exclusive targets) are gimmicky inclusions.
Cutscenes are less impressive than in season one.

Verdict:

Hitman season one was an absolute cracker, full of brilliant ideas and incredibly large levels that allowed the player to get the hit in so many creative and effective ways. With Hitman 2, you can play all the levels under one updated engine, now with additional content and a slew of consistent-in-quality levels. It has a few niggles, but considering its size, scale and quality, it’s still the best entry in the series to date.
