Yesterday, Nintendo announced a second bonus Splatfest for Splatoon 2, which will take place next month. Following the Team Mayo vs Team Ketchup battle from May – a throwback to the first ever Splatfest three years ago – the next will have players answer the age-old conundrum: which came first, the chicken or egg?
The 48-hour Splatfest will begin at 11pm (UK time) on August 21st, and players will once again have temporary access to the Splatfest Tee in support of their chosen team. On top of this great news, two more Splatfests have been confirmed and “will be arriving before the end of March 2021”, according to Nintendo’s social media pages.
To celebrate the critically acclaimed game’s third anniversary, Nintendo has also shared some wonderful artwork.
In Splatoon 2, Splatfests are special battles where players join one of two teams with vastly differing opinions on all sorts of topics, e.g. is cake or ice cream better? Both factions duke it out with opponents around the world in Turf War battles, where the team who coats the stage with the most ink before the allotted time runs out is deemed the winner.
