After almost a decade, Left 4 Dead 2 has received itself a new update for the PC. Created by the community with Valve’s blessing, it will include a whole heap of content. Firstly, ‘The Last Stand’ survival level from the first game has been carried over to the sequel, but has also been turned into a full-length campaign. There will also be 26 new survival maps, 4 levels compatible with Scavenge mode, two original Mutation game modes, single player compatibility for more game modes, and the addition of Versus Survival in the main menu.
That’s not all, though. The update will feature two new melee weapons, the Germany-exclusive Counter Strike Source guns (these replaced the original weapons in the Deutsch version due to the country’s harsh censorship), and reworked animations across the board. To round things off, not only are there numerous patches and new achievements, but the Left 4 Dead 1 models have been included, along with previously unused dialogue for the survivors (“Rochelle has a personality now!”, says the modders).
Exciting times for zombie-lovers everywhere!
