Wolfenstein 1-D | Mini Review

What is it?

Wolfenstein 1-D is a demake of Wolfenstein 3D created by Mike Lacher. The game is reduced to nothing more than small coloured lines – representing the player, enemies, doors and items – sliding left and right on a long, white line.

Pros
Cons
A unique parody.
Still retains the SFX and music.
Playable.
You can’t get lost on your way to the exit.
Can be beaten in a minute.
Technically not one-dimensional, as you can see the lines.
Can’t fight 1-D Mecha-Hitler.

Verdict:

Wolfenstein 1-D is a humorous satire of linear level design that was so prevalent ever since the Halo and Call of Duty franchises took off. It’s easily the best (pseudo) one-dimensional game in existence.
