FPS Documentary Earns £60k In Three Weeks, One More To Go | News

Fandamental has been making waves on the internet with its upcoming project, First Person Shooter: The Definitive FPS Documentary. After a highly successful launch on Kickstater, the fundraiser is still going strong with over £60,000 in donations — across three weeks. Now, with one week to go, the question remains — how much else will they earn before the campaign closes its doors?

According to the Kickstarter, “First Person Shooter will explore the creation and legacy of the most popular and significant FPS titles from the last 48 years,” and that “the completed film will feature insights, stories, and anecdotes from the producers, designers, programmers, artists, and composers who worked on the most significant and popular FPS titles in history.”

An all-star line-up will be promised. Many of the original crew from id Software will appear, from John Romero to Sandy Peterson. Then there’s Dave Oshry, CEO of New Blood Interactive, as well as Head of 343 Industries, Bonnie Ross. You can also expect influencial reviewers and professional competitive players, such as FPS critic Gmanlives and Randy “N04MD” Fitzgerald — he’s cited as “the world’s first quadriplegic pro gamer,” and invented a way of playing FPS games with little more than his chin and lips.

With a scheduled release of Q4: 2022, FPS fans are probably going to salivate at the sight of this one. Check out the Kickstarter here!
